The Presence of the Master

In this mysterious world, where souls come and go, it is the Presence of the Master that animates the lives of both the blessed and the cynic.

And, if you catch sight of a bird hopping, or a dog smiling, it is because they are pondering that which sustains them.

The folk of Faerie know of this also; and even the lost souls of Hades hold this secret especially close, for it can save them: that there is a Creator, and He is good.

Aslan- I have another Name

“It isn't Narnia, you know," sobbed Lucy. "It's you. We shan't meet you there. And how can we live, never meeting you?"
"But you shall meet me, dear one," said Aslan.
"Are -are you there too, Sir?" said Edmund.
"I am," said Aslan. "But there I have another name. You must learn to know me by that name. This was the very reason why you were brought to Narnia, that by knowing me here for a little, you may know me better there.”

Father Azlan

“Father Azlan, why do you appear as a lion?”

“I do not,” he gently said.

“But your name, is a name, whose meaning is lion.”

“This is not my name -but what you call me.”

"My name is sea,
it is mountain and tree,
it is light, it is space,
and the substance it fills ...
it is water - it is bell,
it is the tide of life itself,
- of knowledge, of love -of will.

And by this Grace,
and that Virtue,
and all we call Divine, these names for this eternity are also thee and thine.

Puck, A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Act Five, Scene One)

“If we shadows have offended,
Think but this, and all is mended:
That you have but slumbered here,
While these visions did appear;
And this weak and idle theme,
No more yielding but a dream,
Gentles, do not reprehend.
If you pardon, we will mend.
And as I am an honest puck,
If we have unearnéd luck
Now to ‘scape the serpent’s tongue,
We will make amends ere long,
Else the puck a liar call.
So, good night unto you all.
Give me your hands if we be friends,
And Robin shall restore amends.”

—   Puck, A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Act Five, Scene One)
